Igloo-building by means of a balloon

A brilliant idea: igloo-building by means of a 250-cm balloon

We were slightly surprised when a customer from beautiful Austria called and told us about his idea to use a balloon to build igloos. It is not the intended use of balloons, but why not. So we created a balloon according to our customer’s specifications: amongst other things highly robust material and special alignment of the attachment points were necessary. It worked!

After the first igloo had been built successfully, another one was made next to it. The principle is simple: filling the balloon with air – covering it with snow by means of a snow-blower – cutting the entrance – deflating the balloon – pulling the empty balloon out of the igloo – done! We were enthusiastic when our client emailed us pictures a short time later.

While one of the entrances is reserved for the visitors to the sauna, the guests’ children can use the second igloo for their own adventurous journeys to the Eskimos. As we liked that idea so much we gladly put it into our category “Highlights”.
